Angels' Brigade aka Angels Revenge (79) - Jack Palance, Susan Kiger, Peter Lawford, Jacqueline Cole, Sylvia Anderson, Jim Backus, Alan Hale Jr., Pat Buttram, Neville Brand. Another classic probably best known from being shown on Mystery Science Theater 3000. Along the way you get several cameos (tv's Mr. Howell & The Skipper along with Mr. Haney), a tricked out supervan, explosions, dirt bikes, wacky sound effects, and all the 70's-ness you can handle. Recommended! (B)

The Baron (77) - Calvin Lockhart, Richard Lynch, Joan Blondell, Raymond St. Jacques. Smooth operator Calvin Lockhart is The Baron, a filmmaker who is struggling to bring his 'vision' to the screen. He is forced to borrow money from gangsters to finance his movie. Richard Lynch plays a mobster trying to collect, and he is in full on 'mean mofo' mode in this one. (B)

A group dedicated to helping black folks in the inner city turns into a overzealous militant force when they are determined to run out a group of white mobsters in their area. The Black Six (74) - Gene Washington, 'Mean' Joe Greene, Mercury Morris, Willie Lanier, Carl Eller, Lem Barney, Ben Davidson. The black boyfriend of a white girl is beaten to death by her brother & his biker gang. The murdered kid's older brother Bubba (Gene Washington) also rides bikes around with a group of army buddies (the Black Six of the title, played by NFL players from the era) who served together in Vietnam. (B pic & color are nice but it has a few small twitches and glitches, mainly during the first 10 minutes)

He follows Terry onto a cruise ship and the two end up having one of the all time greatest fight scenes ever (yes, this has with fight scene intact). The Day Of The Wolves (73) - Richard Egan, Martha Hyer, Jan Murray, Rick Jason, directed by Ferde Grofe Jr. Gritty, highly rated heist film. Drums In The Deep South (51) - Guy Madison, James Craig, Barbara Payton, directed by William Cameron Menzies. Civil War movie about two friends who end up having to fight on different sides. There's some good battle scenes involving cannons, and attention was paid to keeping things authentic for the time period. (C print is really faded)

Escape From Galaxy 3 (81) - Cheryl Buchanan, James Milton, Don Powell, directed by Bitto Albertini. The best way to describe this is that is starts out like Starcrash (including some of the same special effects) with the good guys fighting the bad guy who wants to take over the galaxy. But then our heroes land on a planet and it takes a detour and turns into this 'Sword & Sandal meets 70's Disco' movie! (C+ has some bright contrast on the backgrounds a few times)

The Four Deuces (76) - Jack Palance, Carol Lynley, Martin Kove, Adam Roarke. Cool comic book style Prohibition-era Gangster movie. Jack Palance leads the Four Deuces gang against his rival Chico Hamilton (Warren Berlinger). Great mix of over the top violence/comedy. (A-)

Hitler- Dead Or Alive (42) - Ward Bond, Warren Hymer, Paul Fix, Dorothy Tree, Bob Watson. Three ex-con gangsters respond to a wealthy man's offer of a million dollars for anyone who can pull off a hit on Hitler! They head up to Canada, join the military, and after parachuting into Germany are caught and end up in a POW prison. But that isn't going to stop the men from continuing their mission. The movie deserves credit for being a big concept on a low budget. Plenty of plot twists, humor, and even some bleakness thrown in and the result is entertaining. (C+)

The Hit Team aka The Company Of Killers (70) - Van Johnson, John Saxon, Ray Milland, Clu Gulager, Ahna Capri, Brian Kelly. John Saxon plays a hit man caught up between the mob and the police. After a couple misadventures (which end up with their bikes and a VW getting smashed), they're broke so the sister of one of the men suggest they smuggle drugs from Mexico! (B+)

Impulse (74) - William Shatner, Ruth Roman, Harold 'Odd Job' Sakata. If you are a Shatner fan at all, you owe it to yourself to see this movie! Bill plays Matt Stone, a psychotic conman ladykiller (literally) who sports some mean 70's threads. Matt is always on the lookout for the next woman he can hustle money from. Once he gets their dough, he kills them. The young daughter of one of the ladies catches on to what he's up to, but nobody will believe her. Of course Matt can't let anybody get in his way so he does his best to get rid of her. There are so many great scenes in this film, from Shatner going ballistic on a woman in a theme park, to the scene when he bumps off his pal Karate Pete (Harold Sakata) in a car wash! Highly recommended. (B)

The Lovers Of The Great Bear (72) - Giuliano Gemma, Senta Berger, Nicoletta Machiavelli, Sybil Danning, Bruno Cremer. The bomber feels like he has to punish society for it's evils, so he goes around planting bombs. Vince Edwards plays the cop trying to break the case, and Neville Brand plays a crazy rapist who is the only witness to Chuck's bombings. This is the unedited version which has a lot more nastiness and grizzly special effects missing from most versions (including the dvd). Highly recommended. (A-)

Manaos (78) - Fabio Testi, Florinda Bolkan, Jorge Rivero, Andrés García, Agostina Belli, Miguel Ángel Fuentes. Kind of a cross between a jungle Action movie and a historical Drama. Fabio Testi gets involved with a group trying to overthrow a corrupt rubber plantation owner in the Amazon jungle. (A- B+)

The Manipulator (71) - Mickey Rooney, Luana Anders, Keenan Wynn. Mickey Rooney plays a nutcase makeup artist who snaps and kidnaps an actress. The camera work and Rooney's over the top sadistic B.J. Lang character make for interesting viewing. (A-)

Mr. No Legs (75) - Richard Jaeckel, John Agar, Ted Vollrath, Lloyd Bochner, Rance Howard. Ted Vollrath plays Mr. No Legs, a Mob enforcer with no legs. His wheelchair is equipped with shotguns in the arm rests, and ninja stars on the wheels! On top of that, he is a Karate Master who can dish out a mean beating. In real life, Mr. Vollrath was a Marine who lost his legs from combat wounds during the Korean War. After that, he became the first person in a wheelchair to earn a black belt. Anyhow, the story involves Mob drug deals and a police investigation headed by Richard Jaeckel. There's plenty of bizarre stuff that goes along, including a bar fight with a midget and some transvestites, Ron Howard's father Rance, plus it was all directed by Ricou Browning, the Creature From The Black Lagoon himself.
